Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is once again at the top of the list of world cities with the most polluted air, according to data from the “IQAir” portal.

Sarajevo is currently second on the list of the most polluted cities, and the air quality in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina is rated as “very unhealthy”, with a quality index of 263.

At the top of the list is Dhaka (Bangladesh), whose quality index is 288, while Delhi (India) is the next with an index of 243.

The Swiss “IQAir” has more than 10,000 measuring stations around the world and shows the air quality around the world.

According to their data, the concentration of PM2.5 in Sarajevo is currently 43 times higher than the annual air quality reference value of the World Health Organization.

During the winter season in Sarajevo and some cities in BiH, the permitted concentration of floating particles is exceeded almost every day, and the biggest causes of pollution are industrial plants, traffic, waste burning, and individual fireplaces.
