AfD representatives took part in a secret meeting that demanded the deportation of millions of people from Germany, including German citizens.
In November, right-wing extremists allegedly presented a master plan for mass deportations from Germany in a hotel near Potsdam, writes ZDF.
High representatives of the AfD were also present at the confidential meeting, according to the documents available to the non-profit research center Correctiv.
The identitarian movement introduced the concept of deportation
According to the research, Martin Sellner, a longtime leading figure in the “Identity Movement” (IB), presented a concept that would see millions of people deported from Germany to Africa, including German citizens with a migrant background.
According to witness statements made available to Corrective, Sellner said they wanted to pass “tailored laws” to create “a lot of pressure to conform” to people with immigrant backgrounds.
Deportations could take place in an area in North Africa that offers space for two million people. According to witnesses, Sellner allegedly said that people working for refugees in Germany could also go there.
AfD politicians at a secret meeting
Also at the meeting was the former head of the AfD caucus in the German parliament, Roland Hartwig, who now works for caucus leader Alice Weidel and is a lecturer at the “Black Red Gold Academy” founded by the AfD’s federal executive committee.
According to research by Correctiv, Hartwig agreed at the meeting to convey Sellner’s plans to the party.
Sellner’s call for deportations of German citizens contradicts the AfD’s official “Declaration on the German People and German Identity”
“As a party based on the rule of law, the AfD is unconditionally committed to the German people as the sum of all people who have German citizenship”.
According to Correctiv, other AfD politicians present, such as the head of the AfD club in Saxony-Anhalt, Ulrich Siegmund, reportedly reacted positively to Sellner’s concept:
The representative of the AfD in the Bundestag, Gerrit Huy, allegedly stated in Potsdam that she had been pursuing her goal for a long time and that she “brought with her the concept of re-emigration” when she joined the party. Correctiv is relying on several sources who are said to have given reporters credible statements from the conference.
AfD: Officially at a distance from “identitarians”
The fact that Sellner introduced the concept of “re-emigration” to AfD politicians is incredible. The Identitarian movement, classified by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution as a “right-wing extremist watchdog”, is on the AfD’s current list of incompatibilities.
The party denies contacts with identitarians
Faced with the accusations, the head of the AfD caucus in the Saxony-Anhalt Parliament, Ulrich Siegmund, explained, according to Correctiv, that he was in private at the meeting, not as a representative of the AfD, and that he did not want to “illegally expel” people.
Martin Sellner, AfD politicians Hartwig and Huy and the AfD’s federal executive board did not respond to questions about the secret meeting.
In the invitation letter for the event, which Correctiv received, a minimum donation of 5,000 euros per person was required to participate.
This donation should make it clear that “raising support is a core mission of our group,” the letter said. The AfD politicians present did not say whether they financially supported the event.
