The delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), led by Zlatan Burzic, Chief of Staff of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, was in Japan from January 22nd to 24th.

During the visit, two honorary consulates of BiH were opened in Japan, in the prefectures of Wakayama and Tsukuba. On that occasion, Burzic handed over letters patent to Honorary Consuls of BiH Ikeda Tokihiro and Nagai Yasu.

Apart from Burzic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation consisted of BiH Ambassador to Japan, Mato Zeko, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH for Multilateral Affairs, Aida Hodzic, and Minister-Counselor at the Embassy of BiH in Tokyo, Mile Nikolic.

During their stay in Japan, the delegation held a meeting with the former Prime Minister of Japan Taro Aso, the current vice-president of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), as well as a series of meetings with representatives of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and local levels of government.

Specific questions about the development of cooperation in the field of education, student exchange, tourism improvement and economic cooperation were discussed.

Multilateral cooperation was agreed upon for the next period, and an initiative was launched to abolish the visa regime for BiH citizens, Klix.ba writes.
