Miodrag Mitrasinovic, one of those convicted in the case of the kidnapping of 20 civilians from a train in Strpci, is on the run.

This information has not yet been confirmed by police sources, however, it was found out that the judicial police did not find Mitrasinovic in the hospital in Foca where he was being treated or at his residential address, which leaves the doubt that he fled the country.

On Friday, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) sentenced Mitrasinovic to 13 years in prison in the first-instance verdict for his participation in the kidnapping of 20 civilians from a train in Strpci on February 27th, 1993, who were then killed in the Visegrad area.

The day before the trial, State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) members arrested the participants in this crime, six of them, in Visegrad, in order to ensure their presence at the sentencing, however, Mitrasinovic was not arrested because he was being treated in a hospital in Foca for stomach problems, so he did not even attend the sentencing.

Moreover, it was also found out that the court police did not find Mitrasinovic in the hospital, but they did not find him at his home address either.

Namely, according to the court decision, those convicted in the Strpci case were ordered to be detained due to the risk of escape, which according to this decision can last no longer than nine months or until a new decision of the Court, Klix.ba reports.
