The Rafah Border Crossing is open, Israel does not accept Aid to Gaza

Egypt has announced that the Rafah border crossing, the Gaza Strip’s only gateway to Egypt, is open and that Israel is not accepting humanitarian aid to enter the region.

Ahmed Abu Zeid, spokesman for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued a written statement regarding the current situation at the Rafah border gate and the humanitarian aid planned to be sent to Gaza.

“Israel holds Egypt responsible for closing the border gate, even though it fired at the border crossing (Palestinian side) four times and thus refused the entry of aid,” said Abu Zeid.

“The Rafah border crossing is open, Israel does not accept aid entering Gaza. Today, the responsibility for the evacuation of third-country nationals falls on Egypt. The border gates are open, Egypt is not responsible for their failure to evacuate.”

Pointing to the “Cairo Peace Summit” planned for October 21, which will be hosted by Cairo, the capital of Egypt, Abu Zeid pointed out that tomorrow’s summit is an opportunity to take the right path.
