On the last session, the Council of Ministers of BiH adopted a decision with which they approved the indebtedness at the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) for the construction of two sections at the Corridor 5C, namely sections Ponirak-Vraca and Nemila-Vranduk. The first works should start in about four months, in July this year, on the section Ponirak-Vraca.
This is also the first section north of Zenica where works should start. Sections Ponirak-Vraca and Nemila-Vranduk are part of the other section Nemila-Donja Gracanica, which is 18 kilometers long and divided into four different parts. Each one of these parts are in different phase of preparations.
The most south section of them is Vraca-Donja Grasanica, and the tender for its construction has been announced and contractor should be announced in two to three months. Construction works should start in five months.
It’s four kilometers long and the cost of its construction should amount to around 120 million BAM, and the construction works will start in about five months. Donja Gracanica loop will be constructed on it as well, and it will include two tunnels and five bridges. Moreover, a large part of the regional roads will be renovated during its construction as well. The construction of this section will be financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The section Vranduk-Ponirak should be discussed at the next session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, which should approve the indebtedness at the OPEC’s International Development Fund (OFID) in the total amount of 96 million BAM. After that will follow tendering. A tunnel and five bridges should be built at this section, which is a total of five kilometers long.
The other section that was discussed by the Council of Ministers of BiH is Nemila-Vranduk, and it is six kilometers long. The KFAED will secure more than 70 million BAM for the construction of this section, which will largely follow the existing main road, with additional expansions.
