Canceled Protest of Utility Workers in Canton Sarajevo

Representatives of the Independent Union of Utility Workers in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Sarajevo Cantonal Board and the Canton Sarajevo Government reached an agreement on increasing the wages of utility workers, and the protest that was announced for today was cancelled.

As announced by the Trade Union, at the next meeting of the negotiating teams, the final positions will be agreed upon and the Collective Agreement for workers in communal companies of Sarajevo Canton will be signed.

The previously announced protest was supposed to be held, symbolically, from 5 to 12 in front of the cantonal government building.

Representatives of the Independent Union of Utility Workers pointed out that the salaries of most utility workers amount to 900 BAM.

Earlier, they stated that the request of the Union was to increase the salaries of utility workers by 100.00 BAM.
