Exhibition “Children in War” by Milomir Kovacevic Strasni was closed with the performance of choir for children and youth ”Suncokreti (Sunflowers)”, at the Art Gallery of BiH.
It was the most visited exhibition set up in the gallery, and director Strajo Krsmanovic emphasized that, after more than 20 years, they were working even on Sundays.
“There was emotion that never happened before, it is unrepeatable. The book of impressions is full, wipes were soaked in tears. Nothing better could happen, not only to us, but also to this city,” said Krsmanovic.
The exhibition was set on the 11th of March, and it marked 70 years of existence of the Art Gallery of BiH.
Strasni recorded scenes from the life of youngest residents of the city during the 4-year long siege. The exhibition consisted of 220 black and white photographs, portraits of children who were born or raised during the war.
Different situations were recorded on the photographs.
“If you take a closer look, they are adults with face of the children. On the one hand, they are children who want to play, and on the other, life taught them to be adults. Each of these photos is a story for itself, and this exhibition is dedicated only to those children,” said Strasni at the opening of the exhibition.
