coca cola marketThe fourth edition of the Coca-Cola Sarajevo Holiday Market opened the evening before at Trg oslobođenja – Alija Izetbegović.

At a ceremony marked with symbolic lighting of Christmas tree lights on a decorated tree, more than 20 meters tall, the Coca-Cola Sarajevo Holiday Market was officially opened by the Mayor of the City of Sarajevo Ivo Komšić and Head of the USAID Mission to BiH David Barth and Head of Cooperation Department at the EU Delegation to BiH Melvin Asin.

This year’s Coca Cola Sarajevo Holyday Market is part of the project “Phoenix – culture for the future”, funded by the EU.

It is implemented by the Municipality of Stari Grad, the zone of improved operations (ZUP) Baščaršija and Sarajevo Navigator Foundation as part of marking of the centenary of the outbreak of World War I.

Coca-Cola Sarajevo Holiday Market is envisaged similarly to Christmas markets in the cities of Western Europe, and last year the event was visited by more than 150,000 people.

The event, which will complete the winter offer of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina through a multitude of entertainment content, will last until 14 January 2015.
