The Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications announced that yesterday, at the headquarters of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) in Sarajevo, contracts were signed between the Federal Minister of Transport and Communications, Andrijana Katic, and representatives of cantons, cantonal road directorates, cities, and municipalities in the FBiH for the allocation of funds for the construction, repair, and reconstruction of regional and local roads.
The Ministry’s statement noted that after signing 18 contracts in Mostar earlier this week, yesterday’s contracts were signed with beneficiaries from the Una-Sana Canton (USC), Central Bosnia Canton (CBC), Canton Sarajevo (CS), Bosnian-Podrinje Canton (BPC), and Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDC) as a result of the Public Call for Applications for the selection of beneficiaries for project financing through the Program for the Utilization of Capital Transfers to Other Levels of Government and Funds – Transfer for the construction of highways, expressways, main and other roads established by the FBiH Budget for 2024.
Of the total 58 projects across the FBiH, which contribute to better quality of life and the development of the economy and tourism in cantons, cities, and municipalities, contracts were signed yesterday with 25 beneficiaries responsible for project implementation. These include the municipalities of Ilidza, Vogosca, Celic, Stari Grad Sarajevo, Kljuc, Hadzici, Zepce, Gornji Vakuf – Uskoplje, Buzim, Fojnica, Gorazde, Usora, Dobretici, Busovaca, and Kiseljak, as well as the cities of Visoko, Maglaj, Kresevo, Bihac, Bugojno, Bosanska Krupa, and Novi Travnik, and the Cantonal Directorate for Roads CBC, the Ministry of Economy BPC, the Directorate for Roads BPC, and the Ministry of Transport of CS/Directorate for Roads.
Funds totaling more than 20 million BAM (20.127.149.96 BAM) have been allocated to projects that are highly mature and prioritized for implementation in cantons, cities, and municipalities.
“By allocating these funds, the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications aims to help finance the improvement of road infrastructure in cantons and municipalities and to send a message that all projects affecting the quality of life at the canton, city, and municipal levels are important for the FBiH. Additionally, we value the feedback from fund users which can help improve these types of projects in the future,” said Minister Katic.
The Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications announced another contract signing with the remaining beneficiaries in the coming days, Biznis Info writes.
