Minister Selmo Cikotic will inform officials about the situation in the temporary reception center where migrants, asylum-seekers and refugees are currently sheltered and progress towards the establishment of the official Temporary Reception Centre Lipa, which is designed to accommodate 1,500 people, including families with children, unaccompanied children, and single men.
While 4,500 migrants, asylum-seekers and refugees are accommodated in the official temporary reception centres in Bosnia and Herzegovina, efforts are under-way to improve accommodation standards and capacities across the whole country.
The Government of Austria, through the International Organization for Migration – IOM, provides financial support to the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the overall migration management, including support for additional reception facilities in Lipa and to help Bosnia and Herzegovina strengthen its migration management capacities.
The funds provided from Austria, are primarily directed to the establishment of an official temporary reception centre Lipa.
In addition to the construction works in Lipa, Austria participates financially in the management of reception centres in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in the provision of non-food products and other needs for the most vulnerable among the migrants, is announced from the Press Office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in BiH.
