IMF Delegation visited the PM of FBiH

161115053-1_xlImplementation of measures from the Reform Agenda, primarily those which correspond to the obligations assumed in the Letter of Intent, was the topic of yesterday’s meeting between the Prime Minister of FBiH Fadil Novalić and the delegation of the International Monetary Fund, led by the Head of the Mission in BiH Nadeem Ilahi.

When it comes to the reduction of budget consumption, it was stated that the number of employees in public administration who receive their wages from the budget of FBiH decreased by around 600 in ten months this year. Moratorium on employment, which has been effective for 18 months already, is yielding good results and that will reflect positively on the execution of this year’s budget and the planning of the budget of FBiH for 2017.

Government of FBiH is still persistent in its commitment to keep the transfer for veteran population within the planned framework.

According to Prime Minister Novalić, the FBiH is especially interested in the solving of the issue of excise taxes on oil and oil products, because that is, objectively, the only way to provide funds for continuation of implementation of infrastructural projects.

Speaking of the implementation of Reform Agenda, Novalić emphasized that the Government of FBiH is currently working on two probably most complex laws: on contributions and on income tax.

It was also discussed about the situation in two telecom operators in FBiH and it was jointly assessed that they have to be restructured radically, with previous in-depth analyses. The necessity for in-depth restructuring also exists in the field of health, whose annual consumption in FBiH is measured with 9.1 percent of GDP.
