Chief of the General Staff of the Army of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski visited Commander EUFOR Major General Anton Waldner on 27 September in EUFOR HQ, Camp Butmir, Sarajevo.

He was welcomed by an Honour Guard made up of Turkish, Hungarian and Austrian soldiers from the EUFOR Multinational Battalion. After the ceremonial arrival COM EUFOR and the Lieutenant General then held a meeting where they discussed the current situation in BiH and EUFORs involvement, as well as future involvement of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia contingent and possible development.

On completion of the meeting COM EUFOR and Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski were escorted by the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia Senior National Representative to the garden of remembrance in Camp Butmir. Where flowers were laid and the assembled personnel paid their respects at the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia memorial, which commemorates the 11 former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia members of the mission who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash in January 2008.
