The royal city of Jajce had a record visit of tourists last month, according to Huso Hadzic, director of the Agency for cultural, historical and natural heritage and development of tourism potentials of this small town.
Last weekend, according to his estimates, about 1,000 tourists visited Jajce, and visits of students and schoolchildren from BiH schools are numerous as well.
He says that the increase in visits is the result of their work in the last 2 to 3 years. Presentations at trade fairs contributed to the promotion as well, particularly the Fair of tourism and eco products that has been organized for 3 years in this city. Also, the international jumping from the waterfall in Jajce brought a lot of promotion as well.
In order to enrich their offer, they are continuing with the restoration of old mills that are national monument.
Last year they managed to restore four of them, and yesterday started works on enabling two mills for grinding grain, which should be completed in 15 days.
This is somehow promotion of eco-products and it is in accordance with the message of the Fair of tourism and eco products that will be held in Jajce on the 24th and 25th of May.
Talking about other mills, Hadzic stated that they will offer them to citizens for rent, to be selling places of souvenirs, handicrafts, and they can be used for exhibitions as well. They are located in a great place, between large and small Pliva Lake, where great number of tourists is coming during the season.
He stated that they are planning to continue with the activities related to tourism promotion of the city, in order to attract as many tourists as possible.
