Why the Security Measures in BiH are increased?

pendesAfter information that the Armed Forces of BiH have increased security measures due to the certain information from the Intelligence and Security Agency of BiH, Minister of Defense of BiH Marina Pendes stated that citizens have no reason to panic due to the fact that it is a common increase of security measures.

Pendes said that the Ministry of Defense increased security measures in general after the killing of two members of the Armed Forces of BiH.

“It is logical that at weekends, due to the fact that the members of the Armed Forces are less active on locations, we reinforce security measures, securing of facilities and people,” said Pendes.

She added that the reason for the increased security measures is in the fact that holidays are right around the corner ahead and that a number of people are using their legal right for days off during the holidays.

“It is logical and it is done in all armies of the world and thus in the Armed Forces of BiH as well. There is no specific threat for special security measures,” said Pendes.

She noted that it is a standard operational procedure used by the armies and that security measures will be increased during weekends and holidays.

“We know that during the holidays is forbidden traffic of explosive agents on the roads in BiH. So, there is no need to raise any tensions because nothing spectacular is happening,” concluded Pendes.

To recall, Deputy Minister of Defense of BiH Boris Jerinic stated that the Armed Force of BiH increased security measures after information received from the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA) BiH.

According to him, measures have been increased on the 10th of December and they are still in force, they refer to the storage of weapons and ammunition.

According to the Minister, security measures have been intensified since November 2015, when Enes Omeragic killed two members of the Armed Forces of BiH, Armin Salkic (1989) and Nedeljko Radic (1981), in a terrorist attack that took place in Rajlovac, Sarajevo.
