The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina passed the Decision on the approval of funds from the current reserve of the Budget of the institutions of BiH and international obligations of BiH for the year 2024, which approves aid in the total amount of one million BAM to municipalities affected by catastrophic floods.
According to this decision, 200,000 BAM is allocated to the municipalities of Jablanica, Konjic, Kiseljak, Kreševo and Fojnica.
The decision enters into force on the day of its adoption and will be published in the Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina considered the Information on the donation of funds for aid to flooded areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Republic of Croatia.
“The Ministry of Security of BiH is tasked to, in cooperation with the competent entity and cantonal bodies, as well as local communities, prepare urgent information on the condition and needs of the population in the flooded area, as well as the condition of the infrastructure in the flooded area of the municipalities of Jablanica, Konjic, Kreševo, Kiseljak and Fojnica and report on this, within no longer than ten days, to the Council of Ministers of BiH so that the Council of Ministers will consider it with the aim of adopting a Decision on the distribution of funds from the funds donated by the Republic of Croatia, to help residents in areas affected by floods in BiH, as well as others donated funds”, it was stated from the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It should be noted that the Republic of Croatia has already made an aid payment in the amount of ten million euros to the account of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In preparing the Information, the Ministry of Security will take into account the priority needs of vulnerable residents of local communities, and propose mechanisms for the urgent and transparent use of funds, in order to ensure effective and fair assistance in remediating the consequences of floods.
The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that the data are needed both for the purpose of drafting the Decision on Distribution and for the purpose of applying to the European Union Solidarity Fund.
