The Ministry of Defense of BiH did not grant Permission for Serbian Army to enter BiH

After Serbian Army soldiers appeared in Bratunac and Prijedor, causing intense reactions, the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Zukan Helez, addressed the issue with new information.

“Immediately upon learning about the presence of uniformed members of the Serbian Army on the territory of BiH, I requested an investigation within the Ministry of Defense of BiH to determine if the Ministry, under my leadership, had granted permission for this presence. I certainly did not. The investigation revealed that the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia did not request any permission for the presence of members of the Serbian Army in our country from the Ministry of Defense of BiH, and no one from the Ministry of Defense of BiH granted any permission or consent for this presence,” Helez stated.

Helez also mentioned that cadets of the Serbian Army were present on the territory of BiH.

“Additionally, the Bilateral Cooperation Plan between the defense ministries of the two countries did not include today’s event. Unofficially, some information suggests that these were cadets of the Serbian Army who might have been invited by the Ministry of Labor and Veterans’ Disability Protection of Republika Srpska (RS). I repeat the Ministry of Defense of BiH did not receive any call nor was permission requested from us for the presence of uniformed members of the Serbian Army on the territory of BiH,” Helez said yesterday, N1 writes.
