The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina held an extraordinary telephone session at which a decision was made to approve the joint sale of the former SFRY permanent mission to the UN in New York, for which no successor state of the former SFR Yugoslavia is interested.
The Joint Committee for the Distribution of Diplomatic and Consular Property of the former SFRY accepted the purchase price of 50 million US dollars, which is the highest bid considering that the last offered price was 42.5 million US dollars, and the value of the property was previously estimated at 30 million US dollars.
The share of Bosnia and Herzegovina is 15 percent of the total amount, ie 7.5 million US dollars (12,530,000.00 BAM). Also, the distribution of possible costs that will be incurred during the sale of real estate in the process of joint sale of the Permanent Mission of the former SFRY to the UN in New York will be done in the same way.
The Council of Ministers of BiH, at the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made a decision on approving the joint sale of the embassy and residence of the former SFRY in Bern, after being informed of the accompanying information and the draft purchase agreement.
Earlier, the Joint Committee for the Distribution of Diplomatic and Consular Property of the former SFRY accepted the purchase price of the Republic of Serbia in the total amount of 7.78 million Swiss francs.
As the Republic of Serbia is one of the five co-owners of this property, 4,706,900.00 Swiss francs represents the purchase of co-ownership shares from the other four countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Croatia, Northern Macedonia and the Republic of Slovenia).
Bosnia and Herzegovina owns 15 percent of the funds, which is 1,167,000.00 Swiss francs or about 2.1 million BAM.
